কসবা মসজিদ, গৌরনদী

ঢাকা-বরিশাল মহাসড়কের গৌরনদীর অদূরে, রাস্তার পশ্চিম পার্শ্বের কসবাতে বিখ্যাত এই মসজিদের অবস্থান। সাধারণভাবে এই মসজিদটি আল্লার মসজিদ নামে পরিচিত। ধারণ করা হয় পঞ্চদশ শতাব্দীতে এটি মসজিদ নির্মিত হয়েছে। কেউ কেউ সাবিহ খানকে এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা হিসেবে উল্লেখ করলেও এর কোনো ঐতিহাসিক প্রমাণ নেই। দৃষ্টি নন্দন বর্গাকৃতির এই মসজিদের তিনদিকে প্রবেশপথ রয়েছে । এছাড়া বক্রাকার কার্নিশ এবং তিনটি মেহরাব কসবা মসজিদের অন্যতম বৈশিষ্ট্য ।

কসবা মসজিদের নির্মাণ কৌশল খুলনার হজরত খানজাহানের মসজিদকুড়ের ন্যায়। ডঃ দানীর মতে, এ মসজিদ পনেরো শতকে নির্মিত হয়েছে। ড. দানী লিখেছেন- “Kasba is an old village in Thana Gauranadi and it contains a mosque situated on the western side of an ancient road said to have been constructed by sabi Khan in early 16th century. But this mosque resembles that at masjidkur in all respects. This oblong building having circular towers at the four corners, is roofed over with nine domes in three rows, resting below on stone pillars. Its affinity with khan Jahan’s building suggests that it was also erected during his time in the middle of the 15th century.”
